Dear Lord I pray you take me away This cross I bear I cannot carry another day

Alone in this world this burden has become too much for me It has broken my spirit a little at a time piece by piece

Dear Lord I pray for you to take me from this My soul is so weary So for now to be at peace is all I wish

The light is all burnt out Not a glimmer left barely a gleam

The future that I once thought so bright now nothing more than a long faded dream

Dear Lord I pray please save me Send your angels to rescue me

Please open up your doors because this world I am ready to leave

Yes I’m Sassy

My attitude may be full of sass, but my demeanor will always be one of class and I know that I don’t have to show off my ass to get attention

I know where I come from, and I know all that I have done and that my battle is still yet not won but my victory is on the horizon

A strong black woman is me, and forever that I will be one of God’s beautiful mysteries not placed here to please you

A gift placed on this earth, just one of God’s many beautiful examples of a woman’s worth like a glimmering diamond amongst the dirt is what I am

So yes my attitude can be one of sass, cause in this life many tests I have had to pass and not one of them is something any class can ever teach you

So when you see me look in my eyes, not at just my hips or voluptuous thighs, cause my eyes are the windows of the soul of who I will forever be

So though you may not love me or even like me or find my attitude a bit too sassy, I am what you see, what has God has made me

Respect is what I have earned though you have not been with me at every turn to understand just what I have learned, to ever really truly know me

But know my attitude will always be one of sass, and I will forever carry myself with class, and if you can’t respect that then respectfully watch my ass as I make my way to my victory.

As time progresses I aspire to be

Someone you can lean on in your times of need

Because only with time can a true friendship grow

And only with time a person’s true self will you get to know

As time progresses I hope our friendship also does

And when you are away and thinking of me you do so with love

As you grow close through the good times, the bad times, the brightness and gloom

As time progresses I desire to become

Your confidante, a best friend someone who feels your heart with love

My faith I feel it waning

My strength so slowly draining

With all I am I struggle to fight

With all I have I hold on tight

Knowing that if I let go I may never get back up

The tears I feel like crying

The hope I fear is dying

But with all that is in me I refuse to give in

And I search for my strength that lies hidden within

Through time I will keep growing stronger

And the tears will fall no longer

And the hope will finally return to me

And things that I now only have faith in will be reality

Why Him

Why is he the one she always thinks about, always dreams about, never wants to be without

Why is he the one who had to take the biggest piece of her heart, turn it inside out,, when she was the one he never even cared about

Why do the thoughts of him always fill her head, even though he had always said it would never be

And why is that she can still care so much, remember every touch from someone not even worthy of her love

Why him instead of any of the many guys who see the beauty in her eyes as well as the beauty of her soul

Why him someone who would never care, could never be there, would never love here the way she deserved

And why does God make it so easy to give your heart, to someone you know from the start doesn’t deserve it

And lastly, why so impossible to take it back, so you can mend the deep cracks left by finally being able to answer yourself, why him

If Tomorrow Were to Come

If tomorrow were to come, but without my soul because it had become one with the souls that had passed quietly in the night

If morning were to break without my laughter because the Lord did take back to the heavens what was rightfully his

Would you regret the words that were unsaid, all the moments left unshared the time took for granted when I was here

Would you wish we could have spent just one more moment before my spirit’s ascent to a place in the future I hope we will one day meet

If tomorrow should arrive without the opening of my eyes because another day is promised to no one

I want there to be no regrets, no feelings left unexpressed

No one left wondering about what was really felt

Even if every day I don’t say I love you, don’t think it makes it any less true because in my heart I am saying it every second of every day
